Vivato Wi-Fi Switch (Long Range)

Vivato delivers a complete family of innovative Wi-Fi infrastructure products, featuring Wi-Fi switches, both indoor and outdoor, operating in the unlicensed 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Vivato's switches are packaged as a single integrated unit, including the planar phased array antenna and all of the electronics needed to run the switch. Simply supply Ethernet and power, and the switch delivers beams of Wi-Fi to a large area.

Vivato's Wi-Fi network switches are changing the "physics" and economics of Wi-Fi, combining unsurpassed performance and capacity at the lowest cost of deployment. Indoor switches are designed to be installed in the corner of a building and provide coverage for an entire floor. This approach enables a new type of Wi-Fi deployment with one manageable Wi-Fi switch per floor rather than many conventional access points, resulting in a system that is easier to manage and secure. One manageable network element, instead of many, controls the entire Wi-Fi network.

Vivato will offer switches designed for outdoor deployments too. The most efficient way to provide Wi-Fi coverage for an entire building is from the outside. A single Vivato switch can provide Wi-Fi coverage for a multiple story building when placed on an adjacent building, an ideal solution for campus deployments of Wi-Fi.

Vivato's outdoor switches also can be used to deliver Wi-Fi to much larger areas. Vivato's outdoor switches can support outdoor Wi-Fi client devices up to 4 kilometers away or indoor Wi-Fi clients within a 300 meter radius from the switch.

Vivato switches are built on industry standards and are designed to be flexible enough to seamlessly integrate into the existing management framework of enterprise customers. The extreme range of Vivato products also enables new options for service providers, improving the economics of broadband service delivery.

Security is very important for Wi-Fi installations. Vivato's switches include state of the art Wi-Fi security - the Wired Equivalency Protocol (WEP) and Temporal Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP) with 802.1X authentication with per station keys. Higher-level security mechanisms normally found in add-on products such as Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and Virtual LANs (VLANS) are built into each switch. Vivato also is introducing Rogue AP detection with its switches.
